The Brief

The client approached NW3 Interiors after they purchased this large, non-modernised property. The brief required urgent attention to several pressing issues: leaking bathrooms, outdated spaces, and an impractical kitchen layout with a large pantry behind the main cabinetry. The client wanted every room to be redecorated, furnished, and modernised while preserving the elegance and grandeur of the home.

Design work began in October 2023, with bathrooms prioritised due to their condition. The project involved a complete rip-out starting in November 2023, with the first bathroom fixes arriving by February 2024. By April 2024, custom furniture and bespoke rugs were ordered, and the project was fully completed by October 2024. NW3 Interiors coordinated all aspects of the interior design, including interior architecture and collaboration with builders and trusted trades and suppliers, to ensure a cohesive and well-executed design.

The Challenge

We overcame these renovation challenges:

• • Managing time constraints and ensuring specific areas were completed sequentially to avoid interruptions, especially in high-traffic zones like the entrance.
  • Balancing high-end, world-renowned luxury brands with custom, handmade elements, such as bespoke joinery and hand-painted wallpaper, to create a seamless blend of tradition and modern elegance.
  • Maintaining the home’s architectural integrity while ensuring a contemporary design flow and installing a smart home system.
  • Creating cosy, inviting spaces in large volumes, such as a spa-inspired bathroom that would feel intimate despite its size.
  • Incorporating functional elements, such as a dressing room with acoustic materials and a desk, while preserving a visually stunning aesthetic.
  • Addressing the high ceilings required carefully chosen oversized furniture, custom-made for the space, to ensure the home felt warm and lived-in, rather than too sparse or cold.
  • Integrating a surround-sound cinema, gym, climate-controlled wine cellar, and solar panels into the overall design without compromising aesthetics.

   

The Solution

To meet the client’s needs, a dedicated team of four full-time designers worked exclusively on the project, ensuring continuous collaboration between the design team, suppliers, and tradespeople. Regular communication with all involved parties allowed NW3 Interiors to manage the complexities of the build and design process while ensuring the client’s vision was fully realised.

The design team employed a range of luxury brands, ensuring that every space met the highest standards of craftsmanship. With over 50 suppliers involved, including bespoke furniture makers, handmade rug designers, and bathroom specialists, each element was tailored to fit the client’s vision. Bespoke joinery was used throughout, and hand-painted wallpaper brought a unique touch to many spaces. The entire home’s flooring, walls, furniture, and décor were carefully curated to maintain a cohesive design.

The Outcome

The result is an elegant, timeless home that beautifully balances modern living with the property’s historic architectural features. Each space is meticulously designed, allowing the home to feel both luxurious and inviting. Quality finishes and bespoke craftsmanship throughout the house ensure that the renovation will be enjoyed for decades to come.
