CHISWICK FAMILY HOME

A stunning house renovation in West London.

The Project

 The Background

Our clients purchased this large five-bedroom Victorian style property in West London 2020 and approached NW3 Interiors to assist with the home’s interior design and complete renovation.

The Challenge

We were tasked to transform the house into something warm and inviting focusing on family orientated areas. Amplifying the space, light and square footage to create something more practical and enjoyable for our clients. The real challenges weren’t in the initial interior design brief, but rather tackling the consistent barriers that came up during the renovation, which included a global pandemic!

The Solution

Working collaboratively with the client we came up with floor-plan revisions that were more suitable for the family. As well as curating a layered scheme, laced with textures, materials and different levels of lighting for added ambience and cosiness. Extending into the garden to create an additional lounge space meant we could create a separate snug area for the children to enjoy. While designing a more sophisticated lounging area with our luxury brand lighting levels featuring our favourite Gould sofa from Knoll and a bespoke armchair from Duisst.
We faced every challenge with a smile and positivity, which was welcomed and encouraged by the hardworking team that powered through all difficulties to keep everything on track.

The Outcome

Although the transformation took longer than expected, it was definitely worth the wait! We achieved our objective of creating a beautiful and thoughtful home. Designed to create a relaxing and inviting environment with character and unique elements throughout. From the open-plan design with white crittal divides, incorporating bespoke designs by us and curated styling items to take the project from a house to a home.

 Design Details

Being introduced to Carly and Molly through a friend, was the start of my amazing home transformation! I’ve always enjoyed interior design and renovation projects- but this one was on a bigger scale – so was keen to work alongside interior design experts to make sure I got it right!
Getting them in early was key, as Carly tweaked the downstairs drawings, and Molly reviewed the bathrooms and lighting plans in detail, making some great suggestions and amendments that I’m super grateful for today.
The brief was simply to make the space feel cosy for my family with multiple textures and layers,  and create a space that we can enjoy as a family.
Molly and I set about choosing the finishes for the ground floor and bathrooms- Molly worked tirelessly to make sure each space tied together – and was always on hand to answer all my questions, no matter how trivial.
I was so impressed and grateful for her support that I then added in the master suite and guest bedroom – and she even helped me with the children’s games room!
She introduced me to a huge variety of brands and designers-  choosing and steering me towards some amazing pieces, fixtures and fittings. She helped me incorporate pieces I had inherited from my Grandma- and worked with me right through until the house was ‘finished finished’!
We finished the house in September and I still have to pinch myself that I actually live here. It’s been such an incredible transformation- Molly and Carly have been amazing to work with. I’m not sure how I will now fill my evenings and already miss my daily whats app chats with Molly!
