Guest Room Transformation in Primrose Hill
A family of six situated in the heart of Primrose Hill village required their lower ground bedroom and bathroom to have a completely new layout to work for their guests who regularly visit from Australia for long periods of time. The space therefore needed to work for long term stays whilst also working as a multi-functional space to include areas for her 4 children: such as a desk for the kids to study for school exams. The client was keen for a fresh, cosy look to include neutral colours as a base and accent colours were used in the decoration choices so that the client can change over time.
The bike was placed in the bay window so that it could be hidden behind a curtain, along with a shelf so that a laptop could be placed in front of the bike as he uses it to race against others online all over the world. We also installed a thick curtain that draws to hide the bike and also to add privacy for the guests. There was a pocket in the wall incorporated into the design so that the curtain can be tucked away.
Textured wallpaper was incorporated the colour scheme to create a natural look. We used a mixture of velvet curtains along with a sofa bed frame so that different family members could sit and enjoy the space. The rug was sourced directly from India to keep the costs down. The builders installed new flooring in grey oak. We installed bespoke storage which included sliding doors to maximise the space. New down-lights, lamps and cushions were added to add warmth and texture.
