Continuing with our series of introducing the exciting designers we engaged with at Maison Objet Paris last month – and whose work we are delighted to announce we will be stocking here on NW3Interiors – we’d like you to meet Glamora.

This exciting, relatively-new Italian brand (they’re been around since 2010) specialises in creative wall coverings, including murals for both residential and commercial interiors. And they have certainly taken the term ‘creative’ to extremes – as you’ll see below.

Describing their mission as providing “visual identities for walls” and adding “poetry to interiors,” they have produced an impressive and highly unusual range of digitally revolutionary custom vinyl wall coverings. In other words, if you’re looking for something a bit different for your walls, then this is definitely the brand for you.

The following are from the company’s newest range titled View. The collection has been described as a nod to “a world that enraptures the senses” and proves reminiscent of dreams, says company Founder Alberto Casali:

The company commissions both famous and up-and-coming artists from around the world to design capsule collections for it – the most well-publicised of which was the Collection by Karim Rashid. His Multiverse series of nine wallpapers featured a digital kaleidoscope of optical effects and illusions in four stunning colour variations. The designer himself described it as a totally new dimension of geometric distortions that will play with ideas of space, depth and movement infinitely.”

Their Vitality collection, which really kicked the company off to international fame, was used to decorate the walls of the Mordi e Fuggie Restaurant in Bologna, making them appeared sketched with a black and white illustrated wall containing windows with green leaves appearing in them. This was aimed at a nostalgia feel:

The actual wallpaper material produced by the Glamora brand is slightly embossed and similar to fabric which has been painted over with vinyl. According to the company this makes the product incredibly easy to hang and strip. The best bit is that the wallpaper is washable, resistant to fire and very easy to clean (perfect if you have toddlers with sticky hands running around).

The embossing technique you’ll find definitely adds texture to your wall and highlights the pattern throughout the design, making the whole look far more dramatic than you’d find with standard wallpapers.

We hope you’ve enjoyed meeting Glamora. Pop back soon to discover which new designer we’ll be featuring – and whose gorgeous items – we’ll be stocking over the coming weeks.
